Show them that you can!

In life, you will get told that you aren't able to do something for multiple reasons: you're too small, too big, too this or that, you can't because you are a girl. Everyone has been told at least one of these things or other things telling them why they can't do it. It isn't up to you to control what others say about you, but it is up to you to prove them wrong. When someone tells you that you can't do something, you just have to show them the truth, you need to show them that you really are big enough, or old enough, or whatever the reason was that you "couldn't" do it. I understand that it is way easier said then done, but if you never try, it will never work.
~'Candle Lite' Dahlia | K Connell DahliasFor example, a young boy wanted to grow up to be a champion track runner. Almost everyone in his life told him that he didn't have what it would take to be a track runner. They told him that his dreams were too big, and he would never get anything done if his dreams were that big and unrealistic. This boy believed what everyone told him. He let their words get to him, and decided to grow up to be an office worker. For the rest of his life, this boy will wonder what would have happened if he would have tried to meet his goal and become a champion runner. He will never find out because he didn't prove the people wrong, he let them be right. Now, there is a girl who wants to be an Olympic swimmer. She was told the same thing as the boy, but she didn't end up as an office worker. There was one difference that made the girl and the boy end up so differently. The girl just ignored the doubters. Whenever she would start to believe them, she would tell herself that one day, they would all be sorry, and she would be in the Olympics. She knew that it wouldn't be easy, she knew that her goal was a big one, but she didn't let stop her from trying her best.
Which one are you, are you going to let the people who are busy telling you that you can't do something for some reason win? Or are you going to tell yourself that one day, all of the people who have ever doubted you will be sorry that they hadn't believed in you from the beginning?

Teamwork

Today I was drawing a blank on what I should say. Then I realized how important teamwork is to me, and why. Here goes.

I'm involved in many teams, and so are all of you. You may not think so, but you are in some way. What is the definition of a team? When we think the word team we might think sports, we might think of a team in the police department, or we might think of a military team. Yes, those are teams, but the definition of a team is: a number of persons associated in some joint action (according to dictionary.com) So as you can see, a team doesn't have to be something big, it just has to be a group in some situation. Your team could be your family. Your team could be your school band or your class project. What all of these have in conman is that there is more than just one person or thing. There is a group who has to work together to get things accomplished.
I also enjoy being in charge of things, but I want to do it right. This year I'm one of the older students, and I am in charge of a lot with the younger students. So I end up asking myself a lot. "what do I need to do, to be a good leader, and motivate these others to listen to what I'm saying?"
There are a few main things that you need to do if you want to motivate your team:
               1) Don't over control: nobody likes someone who wants to control everything. Even if you are the head of a team, you should still give the other people a chance to voice their opinion. However, there is still a place for you to make executive decisions when necessary.
              2) Lead by example: There is a saying "actions speak louder than words" which is true, people are more likely to follow what you are doing, and act in some of the same mannerisms as you then they are to follow and listen to what you say.
              3) Be approachable: You have to make the people whom you are leading believe that even though you are in a higher position then they are, you are not a better person than they are. If they can approach you with a problem, or anything, you are doing OK.
               4) Help each individual: This one could be more difficult than the others, depending on how big your team is, but just the simple act of taking time out of your day to help one of your team members will mean so much to them.
These are just a few off all the things that you can do to encourage and motivate your team positively

What's best for you?

There comes a point when you just have to no longer care what anybody thinks. People will try to influence you to make a decision how they think is best. Yes, sometimes teacher and parents, as well as others, may have more information than you do, but you are the only one who can make the best decisions for yourself. You can listen to other people's opinions, but they are only opinions. A very wise person once said,
Inspirational Quote. "Be The Best Version Of YOU" A beautiful printable quote for you!:                "If you trim yourself down to suit everyone you will soon whittle yourself away."
What that means is; let the haters hate, and you do what you think is best for you. Then you will be a much happier and  more healthy person.
If you are all alone after making a decision, the first instinctive reaction is to question yourself. Was that the right thing to do? What could I have done differently to make everyone else like me? Maybe the other option would have been better. These are easy to think. However another wise person said:
"It's better to walk alone than with a crowd that is headed in the wrong direction"
That quote is very self-explanatory. Even if you are going alone, that is better than going the wrong way with a lot of people. So even if you have made a decision and you seem outcast because of it, as long as you made the best choice with what you had to work with, you are doing it right.

A little about me

I'm Lyndee Yoder, and just recently I have decided to me a motivator. Lately, I have been sending out motivation and inspiration to some of the people at my school. I decided that I could do a little more than just in my school, so now I'm going to send out different things and put them on my blog. On normal weeks, I will but something new every week, usually on Fridays, but sometimes I will have to send them out on a different day.

Have a wonderful day, and I'm sure that you will hear from me soon.
